It's hard to explain how big the wave systems are, and its even harder to photograph the size of them. This image tries its best to give a sense of this, by capturing the infamous Pukaki Wave. Fun fact, the lake below us in this image (Pukaki) is 30kms long. read more
Amazing flight in the Ahuriri valley. A storm shutting us out from Omarama, so we had to fly around it, with the sight of this marvellous rainbow. I know rainbow photos are cheesy, but with this I made an exception. Notice the reflection on the wing. read more
...its like a buried dinosaur skeleton. maybe it is. Certainly there is visual satisfaction in seeing the geometry of a Duo collaborating with the geometry of erosion. After all, both are powered by the sun and gravity. read more
I remember clearly the day when Dan landed RZ at the Maitland strip. We went there to check on them, also to show off. Well... needless to say we landed there as well. I remember my client being very grumpy with me (as he was to pay for the retrieve). I remember telling him that life is all about adventures like this, and that he should really just enjoy it! However, the south wind froze them and turned… read more

What a day to fly to Mt Cook. Chasing a Ventus 2, DR, in the wave with my telephoto lens. Hard to keep up when you have to sideslip. I stuck the lens out of the window to get this shot. read more
Aerotow from Omarama, during a competition. This is not any ordinary Cub, but the Cub that belongs to Gavin Wills. Probably the most adventurous cub on the planet. Although Gavin has hidden the skiis away from the plane, so no more snow-landings, we take this plane to some great places to rescue gliders. This Cub also starred in the movie "Flying South" At the controls is my good friend, Toby, who is now an Air New Zealand Pilot. read more
